Training Notes:
New Leader
Essentials
training (This Is Scouting) is now available online and does
not need to have a scheduled class time.
District Youth
Leadership Training
will not be offered
but it will be substituted with Unit Youth Leadership
Training, where one or more troops provide the training to
their newly elected Boy Scout leaders. Training should be
led by the Scoutmaster and the Senior Patrol Leader or their
delegates.
The Hornaday Award
Weekend
4/17-18/10, and Webelos–Wood (a.k.a.
Webelos-ree) are actually District Activities Committee
events and not technically training, so they will be
scheduled with other District events, such as Spooker-ree,
Camp-o-ree, Scout-o-rama, etc.
The District
Commissioner will schedule Commissioner’s Training
within the District once or twice in the year.
Redwood Empire
Council will also schedule council-wide training events,
such as Wood Badge in September, University
of Scouting in January, Interdistrict
Planning Conference and Commissioner’s
College in February, and Trainer’s Edge
in March. There are also other Council training events such
as Leave No Trace and Climbing
Wall training to be scheduled.
